Medical Massage

“Medical Massage” is outcome-based massage, primarily the application of specific modalities targeted to the specific problem the patient presents with a assessment and are administered after a thorough evaluation by the medical massage therapist with specific outcomes being the basis for treatment.

Dr. Brent Bauer of the Mayo Clinic on the Benefits of Massage Therapy

Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine. It’s increasingly being offered along with standard treatment for a wide range of medical conditions and situations.

Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension.

Beyond the benefits for specific conditions or diseases, some people enjoy massage because it often produces feelings of caring, comfort and connection.

Despite its benefits, massage isn’t meant as a replacement for regular medical care. Let your doctor know you’re trying massage and be sure to follow any standard treatment plans you have.

I’ve been being treated by Lisa for nearly 5 years. She is a true professional and her muscle inter-relationship’s knowledge lends to here expertise; and the excellence of the massage. Muscles have inter connectivity that she uses to your advantage to address muscle stress and strain. She always seeks agreement to the nature of the massage in terms of the nature of aggressive approach. You get to say too little or too much. This is not a foo-foo massage; but rather a restorative massage with the patient’s input. Thank you Lisa for your continued help.
Best
